Not so long ago I found myself in a situation where I felt that I had lost everything I had been building for many years.
A huge passion project of mine had come to the end of the road despite repeated attempts to make it work.
I took a short-term job invigilating exams in a local secondary school to help keep my head above water while I came to terms with this perceived loss.
Invigilating the exams had to be one of the most boring and depressing experiences I’ve ever had. But it also served as a powerful catalyst in figuring out what it was that really lit me up inside.
To cope with the hours of endless monotony I started to doodle and draw subjects which excited me. This is the very first painting based on those doodles which I created once I was able to break free.
Now I will never look back.
This painting is a reminder for anybody out there who feels stuck. There is a much brighter tomorrow if you just take the time to connect with the fire that’s burning inside you.
Acrylics on canvas.
